Wesleyan Way Assisted Living

INDEPENDENCE, CHOICE, DIGNITY

Wesleyan Way Assisted Living is a long-term care alternative to seniors who need more assistance than is available in a retirement community, but who do not require the skilled medical and nursing care provided in a nursing facility. While many seniors relocate to an assisted living residence after a period of rehabilitation in a nursing facility or hospital, nearly half come directly from their homes. Residents recovering from a recent hospitalization can receive their follow-up care and treatment while staying in Wesleyan Way. Post-hospitalization services available include physical, occupational and speech therapies. Wesleyan Way Assisted Living is designed to be operated, staffed and maintained to best meet the needs and desires of our residents. Security and independence, privacy and companionship, physical and social well-being are the primary characteristics of Wesleyan Way and accounts for its popularity among seniors and their families. Our residents receive 24-hour supervision, medication assistance, personal care assistance, health care services, activities and accommodation to our residents changing needs and preferences. We maximize our residents' dignity, autonomy, and encourage family and community involvement.

AMENITIES INCLUDED

Residents can choose private or semi-private rooms, each with a private bathroom. The Wesleyan Way Assisted Living model is dynamic and the range of services offered is wide. Planning and communicating are the keys to an enjoyable and beneficial stay and what sets us apart from others. Upon admission, we will have a detailed history of the medical condition and other pertinent information that will help us determine how best to care for our residents. The plan we develop includes an assessment of the individual's physical and psychosocial status as part of the planning process, and the resident, family or other responsible party is always involved.

ASSISTED LIVING RESOURCES

The scope of long-term health care services now available is expanding to meet the needs of America's growing elderly population. Assisted living is a relatively new, widely popular consumer oriented option. Consumers will continue to be attracted to assisted living because it offers independence, privacy and personal care. To obtain additional information about assisted living, you can visit the National Center for Assisted Living, NCAL, at their web-site (www.ncal.org) for publications, upcoming seminars and materials about assisted living. Or you may write to NCAL, 1201 L. Street NW, Washington DC, 20005. NCAL actively represents the assisted living profession and its perspectives to policy makers who shape laws, regulations, policies and opinions that will influence the future of assisted living.
